Browning in Carpet

Browning in carpet is actually known as soil wicking.  Have you ever had your carpet's cleaned (I hope) and had a spot that came right out when the technician cleaned right over it, but after they left and the carpet dried, the spot re appeared?  How did that happen?

Some spots are at the base of the carpet fibers, failure to vacuum before cleaning and technician error resulting in over wetting carpet are all causes to soil wicking.  As the water evaporates from the carpet it carries the soil particles to the surface of the carpet fiber resulting in showing the spot again.  Technicians need to be aware of how much the carpet is wet during cleaning and maintain their equipment to assure proper suction and removal of waste during the cleaning process.
